Partner Post: 2022 Northeast & Mid-Atlantic Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit (Event: April 18-22, 2022)
Do you want to learn more creative ways to manage gentrification, support creative economies and local businesses, or do community and youth engagement and culturally competent placemaking? Join us at the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic Creative Placemaking Summit, online and in downtown Schenectady, April 18th-22nd. https://www.cpcommunities.org/
The Summit offers more than two dozen sessions—from online presentations to in-person, hands-on experiences. Get inspired and empowered. Make valuable connections with civic and cultural leaders from New England, the Mid-Atlantic states, and other parts of North America. The Summit is open to everyone.
More than 32 hours of AICP CM credits will be requested, thanks to the partnership of the American Planning Association Upstate New York chapter.
The online portion of the session will be from April 18th-20th. It will feature presentations, panel discussions, and an online exhibit hall where you can learn about a wide variety of organizations involved in placemaking. Can’t make all the sessions? No problem! They will be recorded and available to view anytime.
Join us in Schenectady–just 25 minutes from Albany–April 21st and 22nd for training workshops, Strategic Conversations on policy and practice, placemaking tours, and Strategy Labs. The Strategy Labs give you experience in creative placemaking, and are designed to help four communities in Schenectady and Troy. Meet social practice artists in our Social Practice Showcase. Get ideas for engaging audiences and incorporating more art in your community.
Stick around Schenectady on Saturday and join us for the Community Weave activity. This community art-making event will connect to environmental issues, the Capital Region’s growing diversity, and the area’s rich history of weaving and textile manufacturing.
Early registration tickets range from $50 for the online-only sessions to $260 for the entire Summit. Ticket prices go up March 1st. You can also get a 20% discount on all tickets by using the promotion code APA20 at checkout.
There are special rates for students. Please send an email to Summitinfo@cpcommunities.org for more information.
